Trump says the White House treats anyone who says Artificial Intelligence as the enemy

Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene mocked it within hours, but the government's own AI website still sits at ai.gov.

At 12:14 pm Eastern on October 8, 2026, President Trump posted a single sentence on Truth Social: the White House now treats anyone who still says "Artificial Intelligence" instead of "Super Intelligence" as "THE ENEMY!"

It's the latest step in a rename that started at the UN in September, when Trump told the General Assembly the technology would be called super intelligence from then on. We covered that speech at the time. This post goes further and aims at everyone outside the government too.

How Massie and Greene answered

Some of the sharpest replies came within the hour. Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky posted 43 minutes later and turned the word back on Washington.

Artificial Intelligence is a term historically reserved for politicians.

Marjorie Taylor Greene kept it shorter. She posted the two banned words and a middle-finger emoji, at 3:13 pm. The commentator Matt Walsh complained about the timing, with less than four weeks to go before the November 3 midterms, in language we won't repeat.

What the government itself calls it

The administration's own pages have mostly made the switch. On the same day as the post, the White House fact sheet for its science summit used "SI" throughout, promising to equip scientists "to harness SI-driven scientific revolution" and announcing $2.4 billion in "SI for science tools and compute credits" from tech companies. (We wrote up those pledges separately.)

The United States is in a race to achieve global dominance in super intelligence.

From AI.Gov | President Trump's SI Strategy and Action Plan

The address hasn't caught up, though. The government's AI policy site still lives at ai.gov, even though its page now bills itself as the president's SI strategy and its copy talks only about super intelligence.

Trump's post doesn't say what treating someone as the enemy would involve, and the White House hasn't said either. It names nobody. Trump's own post that morning put the midterms on November 3.
