Get up to speed on a series everyone else already watches

I'm joining One Piece partway through and I've never seen any of it. I'm starting at: my flatmates are on the Wano arc and I've never seen any of it

How much I want: just enough to follow tonight
What I already half know: I know there's a pirate with a straw hat and a swordsman

Write this for someone who has never seen a single episode. Not a refresher. Explain every name and every invented term the first time you use it, in the same sentence, without stopping to lecture.

Give me:
1. The premise in three sentences. What the show is, what the main character wants, and what's in the way.
2. Who's in the room. The people I'll see on screen, one line each: who they are, what they want, and their one defining trait so I can tell them apart.
3. How we got here. The handful of events that matter for understanding where things stand now, in order, one line each. Skip everything that doesn't pay off at my starting point.
4. What people will be shouting about. Running jokes, big reveals everyone references, and things that will make no sense unless someone explains them.

Do not spoil anything past my flatmates are on the Wano arc and I've never seen any of it. Stop dead there.

Keep it under a page and a half. I'm reading this on the sofa while everyone waits.
