Schwab is the first custodian in Anthropic's new advisor product, and no date is named.

The release describes the connector in detail and quotes both companies, and leaves out when anyone can turn it on.

On September 14, 2026, Charles Schwab said it will carry Anthropic's new product for financial advisers' desks. The release, Charles Schwab and Anthropic to Bring Claude to Independent Registered Investment Advisors, went out from Westlake, Texas and Huntington Beach, California.

I read it for the date you could start using this. There isn't one. What the release does carry is an unusually specific account of how far into a firm's systems the model reaches.

What the connection opens

Schwab Advisor Services is "the first RIA custodian included in Anthropic's new Claude for Financial Advisors". An RIA that turns it on reaches Schwab's advisor site from inside Claude, and the release is plain about where the model is meant to work.

Advisors can get more value from the tools they already use — from financial planning and CRM to portfolio accounting and custody — with audit logs for admins to review.

The jobs it names are the ones that eat an adviser's morning: "meeting preparation, financial plan updates, analytics, and drafting client follow-up for advisor review". That last clause is the one to hold on to. A person still signs the note that goes to the client.

Who says what

Peter Nolan, head of asset and wealth management at Anthropic, put the pitch in terms of reach rather than capability.

Our goal is to bring the benefits of AI to as many families as possible, and a direct path runs through the advisors they already trust

Jon Beatty, head of Schwab Advisor Services, made the case for integration over novelty, saying AI helps advisers stand apart "even more so if it is integrated with the proprietary workflows and tech stacks advisors have already built". Alison Dooher, head of AI for Schwab Advisor Services, said it "takes on more of the work that pulls advisors away from their clients".

The part that isn't in it

The release names no availability date and no price. What it points at instead is Schwab's IMPACT 2026 conference, "where RIAs will have a chance to learn more about how to get started and use these capabilities in their firms".

It also says nothing about which client data crosses into Claude, beyond naming the connection as authenticated and the logs as reviewable by admins. For a firm that has to answer to a regulator about where client records went, that gap is the first question, and the conference is where somebody gets to ask it out loud.
