Something went wrong (1095)
The message
Something went wrong (1095)What it means
Gemini refuses every prompt with this code, often after a long or heavy session. Google hasn't said what 1095 means; Product Experts in its forum treat it as a stuck sign-in session on your account.
What to do
Sign out of every Google account in the browser and back in, and try a new chat. If it follows your account everywhere, wait a few hours or use another account, and send feedback from Gemini.
You type a prompt, Gemini thinks for a second, and instead of an answer you get:
Something went wrong (1095)
Sometimes it's every prompt. Sometimes it's the second prompt of every new chat, which is how one person described it in the forum in July 2026.
What Google says about 1095
Nothing, as of October 1, 2026. We searched Gemini's help center and couldn't find an article that mentions the code, and we didn't find a Google employee explaining it in any of the threads we read. The Gemini Apps Community (Google's own help forum) had 22 threads with 1095 in the title between May and late September 2026, and the answers in them come from Product Experts. Those are volunteers with a badge from Google (they don't work there), so read their explanations as informed guesses.
What Product Experts told people
We went through every reply in those threads. The experts' answers mostly point the same way. Rajat Patel replied to a thread titled "what is error 1095" on June 3, 2026 that "it is a session authentication conflict or account synchronization issue rather than a system crash", and told the poster to sign out of their Google account everywhere and back in. Fred SR wrote in May that 1095 "usually points to a session conflict or a browser extension interfering with the page". By late July he was replying to one thread with "This is known issuue" (his spelling) and a link to Gemini's feedback page.
For us the most useful case was a thread from August 10, 2026. The poster had narrowed it down well. 1095 followed their main Google account into Chrome and Edge, while a signed-out incognito window, a second account and the phone app all worked. Fred SR's answer was that this is "account-specific" and that "local device or browser troubleshooting will not resolve this error". He suggested carrying on with the second account or the mobile app, and allowing "24 to 48 hours" for it to clear on Google's side.
Another expert, Mário Lúcio, covered the narrower case where only one conversation fails. He said that history "may have entered an error loop" and a new chat usually fixes it.
The pattern in the threads
Users noticed something else. Several tie 1095 to volume. A paying AI Premium subscriber wrote on September 27, 2026 that it "locks you out of using the service after so many generations in succession" and that only waiting several hours brought it back. Another person who hits it daily said they lean on Try again a lot, and logging off for a couple of hours is the only thing that works. A Workspace user in May had been running up to seven thinking prompts at once (by their own count), and their IT admin suspected a usage limit. Nobody from Google has confirmed a limit. It's still a guess.
Clearing the cache didn't help most of the people who'd already tried everything else. Thread titles include "after waiting for 20+ hours" and "on all chats for 24+ hours despite clearing" cache.
What to try
- Start a new chat. If only one old conversation fails, that's the error-loop case.
- Sign out of all Google accounts in the browser, then sign back in with just the one that has Gemini. An incognito window rules out extensions at the same time.
- See whether it follows your account. Try a second account or the Gemini mobile app; if those work, you're in the August poster's situation.
- Turn off any VPN, proxy or custom DNS setting for one test. Fred SR suggested dropping the VPN in July, and another community member listed all three in June.
- If you've been sending a lot of prompts or regenerating heavily, stop for a few hours. That's what ended it for the users quoted above.
If it's lasted more than a day, we'd send a report from Gemini itself (Settings & help, then Send feedback, per Google's feedback page) and include the code. The experts' advice was to say you've cleared site data and tried incognito, so the report isn't treated as a browser problem.

Match yours against these if the one at the top of the page is not quite it. They come from the same code and mean related things.
