Gemini Pro limits per day: how Google AI Pro usage actually resets
Google doesn't publish a per-day prompt count for Gemini. Usage is compute-based, refreshes every five hours until you hit a weekly limit, and Google AI Pro gets 4x the standard limit.
Checked against the lab's own pages on September 25, 2026. Limits change often, so the date matters.
I went looking for the number people search for (Gemini Pro prompts per day) and Google's own help page doesn't print one. Its limits are compute-based. A long chat with a hard prompt on the Pro model costs a lot more than a quick question on Flash, so two people on the same plan can run dry hours apart.

A five-hour refill under a weekly ceiling
The line I'd point you to is the nearest thing to a "per day" answer on the page: your limit refreshes every five hours until you reach your weekly limit. Run out inside a five-hour window and you wait for the refill. Run out for the week and those refills stop coming until it turns over, which is the one I'd watch if you lean on Pro for long coding sessions.
Google AI Pro is 4x the standard limit a free account gets. Google doesn't say what the standard limit is in prompts, which makes the multiplier the whole answer on the page (I'd have taken one baseline number over the whole table).

What burns through it faster
The Pro model and higher thinking levels cost more of your usage, which Google doesn't hide. Media generation and Deep Research eat into it faster than an ordinary chat, too. Ultra subscribers also get Deep Think (it needs the Pro model, and an answer can take a few minutes).
You'll find where you stand under Settings, then Usage Limits (it's at the bottom left). Gemini also warns you when you're close and tells you when the limit will refresh once you hit it.
When you run out
With a Google AI subscription you can keep going on Flash-Lite (Google calls it an efficient workhorse model designed for speed). Without one, you upgrade or you wait. Google also says limits may change without notice, and I'd take that literally. When capacity gets tight, free users get cut first.
